January 13, 1992 Kayla was born to her Mother, Elizabeth Mckean and father Richard Adams. On November 24th, 1998, Kayla was killed when her own father, Richard Adams, brutally beat her. According to court documents, she beaten with a wooden paddle, kicked, stomped, and thrown against the wall. Her bruised, beaten body was found in a shallow grave in the Ocala National Forest. She was found with three fingers sticking out of her grave. She was almost 7 years old, but, In so few, short years, this little girl, would live a life, the world will never forget. Not remembered for how she lived, but in the brutal way she died and the aftermath that followed soon after.
According to court documents, there were months of repeated abuse reports, and hospital visits, prior to her death. Reports from emerengcy room doctors only resulted with Kayla being removed from her fathers care for a few hours, before being placed back in his home with her father, and step mother, to live on a matress on the floor.

Her face beaten so bad one side was swollen even with her nose. Her arms and legs covered in bruises, her skull was fractured, her ribs broken. Her fragile body beaten so badly she had massive internal blood loss from the bruises and her liver was broken in 3 parts.

As a result of Kayla's death, a new law was passed. Kayla's Law.
Many rejoiced, feeling secure, that others like Kayla, would be saved. This was bitter sweet, as this only resulted in thousands of children being swept from their homes, and families, often in the middle of the night in a panic by social workers who were swamped with abuse reports.

Many families all over Florida have been ripped apart since this law came into effect. Act now, ask questions later is their motto. Children are being damaged beyond repair as social workers all over the state are removing children without due cause while Judges sign the paperwork. Parents are losing custody of children at a record rate. With 80% of reports resulting in removal of the children, all the state can do is cry that they do not have enough funding. Stop Crying and Start Doing Something! My Children Represent three, ages 13, 16 and 17 by the end of summer!

When this little girl was reported missing by her father, she was the little girl lost. Now there are thousands of children lost. We need to revert resources, stop paying foster families to house children in roach, and flea infested houses, and invest those same funds into keeping families together. This law was meant to save children but as a result, it's only managed to destroy thousands of children and families all over Florida.
If we can put tracking devices on our sex offenders, why can't we put them on our children and do whatever it takes, even if it means putting resources into helping women like Kayla's mother who at the time of Kayla's death was living in a Sheltered for Battered women.

Kayla McKean was murdered by her father, Richard Adams, on November 28, 1998, supposedly for soiling her underpamts. He beat poor little Kayla so badly that her liver was split into 3 pieces, her skull was fractured, 4 ribs were broken, a lung was punctured and her back and buttocks bled internally, saturating her muscles with blood. He then buried her tiny beaten body in a shallow grave not far from there home. Investigators looking further into her life saw that it was not a pleasent one. She had no bed, and slept on the floor. Her father often beat her with a 2-by-4 paddle with blonde hair. Authorities say her last days on Earth were "anything but pleasent" People were horrified when they heard the story of the little girl who fell through the cracks. In the weeks preceding her death, she had been in the ER with bruises, stitches, ect. Investigators for the Child Services put her in a safe foster home for a night, before returning her to the hell hole where she lived. 5 different investigators were assigned to her case at 5 seperate time, resulting in missing reports, and unfilled gaps, which inevidably lead to her being kept in harm's way. Some one remarked that perhaps one good thing, The Kayla McKean Child Protection Act, came from her death. The act toughens child protection standards and punishment for not reporting abuse.

Do not threaten with lawsuits, I'm aware that the mother of this girl would love an excuse to get more money out of someone and I ask her to bring it, because the world needs to know that she could have made different choices that would have saved the life of her daughter Kayla. That other's are paying the price for her actions. Someone needs to step in and save the life of Kayla's sister. Don't be afraid to tell us what you think. Don't let the threat of angry mobs who want to attack your family using social services as a weapon keep you from speaking out. How does this woman get to keep her child while living this lifestyle? With the death of one daughter, how can the state not know of her lifestyle choices? Where did the paddle come from that Kayla was beaten, with and what link does it have with this mothers lifestyle?

The Truth About Kayla McKean's Mother, and how her decisions caused the senseless death of her daughter. I believe that we make choices and those choices affect the lives of others. Kayla's mother, Elizabeth McKean is not one for making good choices in the best interest of her children. This blog will show the problem of how this mothers poor judgement resulted in the death of her daughter, Kayla. The poor judgement of parents who sit back and reap rewards in the form of Financial Retribution after making the decisions that kill their children.
